7 lies Sex and the City told women

This week, Stacey Woods drives a stake through Carrie Bradshaw's pink bedazzled heart, arguing that 'Sex and the City' is a monstrous waste of women's energies and choices. Is she right? Read her provocative essay from Esquire below.

John Legend - All of Me

All Of Me

What would I do without your smart mouth

Drawing me in, and you kicking me out

Got my head spinning, no kidding, I can’t pin you down

What’s going on in that beautiful mind

I’m on your magical mystery ride

And I’m so dizzy, don’t know what hit me, but I’ll be alright

My head’s under water

But I’m breathing fine

You’re crazy and I’m out of my mind

‘Cause all of me

Loves all of you

Love your curves and all your edges

All your perfect imperfections

Give your all to me

I’ll give my all to you

You’re my end and my beginning

Even when I lose I’m winning

‘Cause I give you all, all of me

And you give me all, all of you

How many times do I have to tell you

Even when you’re crying you’re beautiful too

The world is beating you down, I’m around through every move

You’re my downfall, you’re my muse

My worst distraction, my rhythm and blues

I can’t stop singing, it’s ringing, I my head for you

My head’s under water

But I’m breathing fine

You’re crazy and I’m out of my mind

‘Cause all of me

Loves all of you

Love your curves and all your edges

All your perfect imperfections

Give your all to me

I’ll give my all to you

You’re my end and my beginning

Even when I lose I’m winning

‘Cause I give you all of me

And you give me all, all of you

Cards on the table, we’re both showing hearts

Risking it all, though it’s hard

‘Cause all of me

Loves all of you

Love your curves and all your edges

All your perfect imperfections

Give your all to me

I’ll give my all to you

You’re my end and my beginning

Even when I lose I’m winning

‘Cause I give you all of me

And you give me all of you

I give you all, all of me

And you give me all, all of you

Baby, It's Cold Outside

I really can't stay - Baby it's cold outside
I've got to go away - Baby it's cold outside
This evening has been - Been hoping that you'd drop in
So very nice - I'll hold your hands, they're cold as ice
My mother will start to worry - Beautiful, what's your hurry

The Thanksgiving Day

The Thanksgiving Day (San Givin) (in English, Thanksgiving Day, French, Jour de l'Action de grâce) is a traditional celebration of the United States and Canada. In the United States held the fourth Thursday of November although originally was made last Thursday. In Canada, meanwhile, is celebrated on the second Monday in October. Generally during this festivity gather around a family and friends to share a banquet table. Although religious in origin, is considered a secular holiday.

50th anniversary of the assassination of JFK

November 22nd marks the 50th anniversary of the assassination of JFK. In honor of that too-short-lived Camelot, peruse photos of the First Couple during America's golden era.

Be Zen

Be Zen can mean many things, how to find calm in yourself, you may also live in the present without worrying about the future. Zen could also mean to have faith to know if you are present you can grow and make good decisions for your future.

Sarah Jessica Parker VS Annasophia Robb

Since The Carrie Diaries is back on the small screen (premiering last tonight with a newly cast Samantha Jones!), we felt particularly nostalgic about Carrie Bradshaw. So we rounded up photos of the original Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) and the new Carrie (AnnaSophia Robb) and discovered some amazing similarities in both their red carpet and TV show styles.

Baptism of Little George

William and Kate this afternoon attended the christening of his eldest son, Prince George Alexander Louis. The ceremony, family and intimate, has had seven godparents, all friends and relatives of the couple.

The ceremony lasted about 45 minutes and has been familiar at the express wish of the parents (60 guests have attended). Seven people have been chosen to serve as godparents of the little George, including the couple's friends, college buddies and family as Zara Phillips, cousin of William.

Prince George has led the actual replica christening skirt, handmade by Angela Kelly, valet Queen Elizabeth. The original trim white batiste, was made in 1841 for the baptism of the eldest daughter of Queen Victoria, and has been used in the baptisms of all children of the British Royal Family in the past hundred years, including his father Prince William.

The Carrie Diaries Season 2

Last week we got to see the first promo poster for The Carrie Diaries season 2 which features lead character Carrie Bradshaw posing with her BFF Samantha Jones. Today we get to see the ladies, played by AnnaSophia Robb and Lindsey Gort respectively, in action in the just-released first trailer for the new season. As much as I love Carrie‘s other friends on the show, I know this new season is going to be all about Samantha for me. I still cannot get over how much Lindsey looks like a young Kim Cattrall (the original Samantha Jones on Sex and the City) which I reiterate EVERY time I mention her name … this new season of TCD is going to be so FUN! Check out the trailer above and get excited … The Carrie Diaries season 2 premieres on The CW on October 25th.

Over the Knee Boots

I know they're not for everyone but I'm seriously debating a pair of over the knee boots for fall. These ladies — Emmanuelle Alt, and Olivia Palermo — make them look pretty darn chic, wouldn't you agree?

Diana

I am eager to know what you thought of this film (as it debuted in early September in London). The reviews so far from across the pond have not been anything to write home about, but I must say, I want to see for myself. Set to be released in the states on November 1st, Naomi Watts portrays Princess Diana during the last two years of her life once divorced from Prince Charles. Based on Kate Snell's 2001 book Diana: Her Last Love, audiences are taken through the romantic liaisons with Pakistani heart surgeon Hasnat Khan and finally Dodi Fayed. Have a look at the trailer!

Every Year...

Mumford & Sons - Hold On To What You Believe

Hold On To What You Believe

I
I can't promise you that I won't let you down
And I
I can't promise you that I will be the only one around
When your hope falls down
But we're young
Open flowers in the windy fields of this war-torn world
And love
This city breathes the plague of loving things more than their creators

I ran away
I could not take the burden of both me and you
It was too fast
Casting love on me as if it were a spell I could not break
When it was a promise I could not make

But what if I was wrong?

But hold on to what you believe in the light
When the darkness has robbed you of all your sight

And now this land
Means less and less to me without you breathing through its trees
At every turn
The water runs away from me and the halo disappears
And the hole when you're not near

So what if I was wrong?

Santorini

Santorini always catches my eye ... the stunning blue of the Aegean sea against the whitewashed walls of the villas ...
could look at this view all day, a good option for my honey moon. These photos are from the Katikies Hotels in Santorini.

Gracefully…

“Instead, now perhaps we can look at a beautiful woman and know she will be beautiful to the end of her life. She will be different, of course. And yet, like a fine Proustian sentence, she will have gathered time and harvested memory, lived through a million bodily shocks and mental joys and arrived at the perfect embodiment of herself right now. The girl she once was in the summer dress had always known this could happen.” -Andrew O’Hagan
